This past March, Sigma Chi at the University of Central Florida hosted their annual Derby Days philanthropy. Derby Days is a week-long effort with four nights of events, where sororities compete in challenges and fundraise for charity.
Day one: consisted of a banquet with a full course Italian meal and a professional harpist to set the tone.
Day two: all the sororities participated in a volleyball tournament that was held at Sigma Chi’s backyard.
Day three: was a reverse serenade where sorority girls sang and trolled the brothers. It was quite entertaining.
Day four: Sigma Chi threw a rager at the Iconic Orlando bar “Stagger Inn” with Ookay headlining. This concert was the most talked about event in Florida so we had no choice, but to send one of our videographers to capture all of the action.
Together, the five sororities that participated raised a total of $35,000 for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation. Huge shout out to Tri Delta for coming out on top and winning Derby Days. Also, Vanessa Seco, from Tri Delta, was crowned Derby Darling at the end of the week, which is an award given to the girl who raises the most money throughout the week and represents the Derby Days spirit.
