Drop the Puck on Cancer is a national event produced by Collegiate Charities of Bloomington, IN. Drop the Puck is in its third year on campus at Miami (OH), and has expanded from two single games, to a full-contact elite fraternity hockey tournament. This year, the event included eight elite hockey teams — double the number of participating teams last year.

The charity hockey and Broomball tournament between fraternities and sororities benefitted Luna Cares. Luna Cares was founded by Lisa Ciampa in loving memory of her mother, who succumbed to her struggle with cancer. On top of this tragic loss, Lisa’s family was financially overwhelmed with hospital bills for their lost loved one. The fund continues to support local women in the Oxford community who are undergoing cancer treatment, and families struggling to cover medical expenses.

Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) was crowned this year’s champion in a 4-3 double-overtime victory over Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) on Saturday. Last year Drop The Puck at Miami raised 7,000$ and are on pace to pass that this year!
